NGCP partnered with WGBH Education on its Design Squad Global (DSG) project. DSG Clubs connect kids ages 10 to 13 in out-of-school-time programs around the world. In DSG Clubs, kids explore engineering through fun-packed, high-energy, hands-on activities that tackle real-world issues, and they do so by working alongside a DSG club from another country. In the process of sharing their ideas and exchanging feedback with their partner club, children develop the ability to communicate and collaborate with people from different backgrounds, cultures, and perspectives.
During this 3-year partnership, NGCP and WGBH Education informed and supported educators in DSG Clubs through:
- 50+ informational social media posts,
- More than $5,000 in mini-grants for club implementation, and
- Content-rich national webinars reaching more than 300 participants.
By leveraging NGCP's national network, this partnership expanded the DSG Club program and offered engaging STEM resources to thousands of youth internationally.
