Interested in meeting new businesses that have an interest in your students' success?

Looking for strategies to motivate girls to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering, and math?

Join us for a fun day of workshops on May 5th in Sioux Falls.

CEUs available. 

Topics to be discussed:

• STEM careers: What are they? What does this mean for my students?

• Why do students choose certain careers?  Strategies for linking STEM careers to students’ work values

• Micro-messaging as related to career development & student achievement

• From Job Shadowing to Graduate School: STEM pathways in South Dakota

The event will also meet requirements for Project Lead the Way certification.

Pre-registration is required for accurate count of lunch and materials.

Registration fee of $20 covers lunch, refreshments, and materials.  An additional nominal fee will be required for CEUs.  Travel assistance is available for South Dakota-based counselors.  Please contact Kristy Jackson at if you would like more information about the possibility of travel assistance.

Registration fee ($20) may be paid at the door (checks or cash), or via credit card (online only).  Checks should be made payable to "Sanford Research". 

CEUs are available via SDSU.  The fee is $5.  Checks should be made payable to SDSU-Continuing Education.

2:00  Featured Speaker:  Meagan Pollock, Consultant from NAPE (National Alliance for Partnerships in Equity).  Meagan has provided training for school counselors nationwide on career counseling, STEM Careers, and mentoring.  She will discuss STEM careers and will provide you with activities that could be easily replicated in your own school...with students, or as a train-the-trainer activity.

This career development event is ideal for counselors who want to improve their understanding of STEM careers and regional resources that can assist in your students' success.
