Thank you for your interest in the SciGirls Professional Development Training being held at the Museum of Discovery and sponsored by the Arkansas Discovery Network.

SciGirls is a PBS Kids television series out to change how millions of tweens think about science, technology, engineering and math, or STEM! In each episode, join bright, curious real girls in putting STEM to work. Then check out the website to play games, watch episodes, share projects, and connect with other SciGirls in a totally safe social networking environment!

Participants are invited to attend this free half-day professional development opportunity and discover how to engage young women (ages 8-13) through inquiry-based STEM instruction with a commitment to gender equity. Participants attending SciGirls Trainings will learn the latest research for exciting and engaging girls (and boys) in STEM; experience hands-on STEM activities; and gain access to free materials for hands-on, video-enhanced activities that put a creative twist on teaching STEM.

The workshop will be facilitated by SciGirls Regional Trainer and Director of Education at Sci-Port, Lou Papai.

There is no fee to attend this training. Lunch will be provided.

Click the Sign Up button below to register. Registration closes one week before the training date. You may download the SciGirls FAQ's before the workshop to help with answers to many general questions. Additional information and workshop documents will be uploaded or sent to you as the workshop date approaches.
