Calling all organizations, educators, and individuals involved in science, technology, engineering and math outreach and recruitment in and around Jefferson! We invite you to participate in a hands-on, minds-on Professional Development Training hosted by Girl Scouts of Central Texas.

SciGirls, a PBS KIDS weekly series and web site, is out to change how millions of tween girls think about science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). Educators attending the SciGirls Workshop will learn the latest research for exciting and engaging girls (and boys) in STEM; experience hands-on STEM activities; and have access to curriculum for 20 hands-on video enhanced activities that put a creative twist on teaching STEM. The activities and resources engage both girls AND boys in STEM.

The cost for attending this workshop is FREE. Participants attending agree to offer one SciGirls program or event (minimum of 1 hour) for girls, ages 8-13, using the associated activities within one year of the professional development.

Space is limited to 30 participants only! CPE credits are available for educators. Lunch is not provided, but time will be allotted for participants to go eat. Participants will leave training with tons of resources, activities and a stack of curriculum. Register now for a day of networking, STEM and fun!
