
SciGirls Full Day Training in Wilsonville
Come join us for a hands-on, minds-on Professional Development Training hosted by the Oregon Girls Collaborative and OregonASK. We welcome you to practice proven strategies for engaging girls in STEM while getting your hands dirty exploring activities from the new Season 3!
SciGirls, a PBS KIDS weekly series and web site, is working to change how tween girls think about STEM. Educators attending the SciGirls professional development training will:
- Learn the latest research for exciting and engaging girls, boys, and underrepresented populations in STEM
- Experience hands-on STEM activities
- Leave with curriculum that puts a creative twist on teaching STEM
- Learn how to modify activities to engage kids in STEM using the SciGirls Seven
- Discover additional online resources that enhance teaching and learning experiences for all kids
The activities and resources engage both girls AND boys in STEM. The $30 registration fee per person to attend this training, includes meals and snacks, and the first 20 registered participants also recieve DVD's of Season's 1-3. Participants attending agree to offer one SciGirls program or event (minimum of 1 hour) for girls, ages 8-13, using the associated activities within one year of the professional development.
