Join us for this Hands-on, minds-on Professional Development Training hosted by the Oregon Girls Collaborative and OregonASK. We welcome you to practice proven strategies for engaging girls in STEM while getting your hands dirty exploring content, concepts, and lessons from the new Season 3 of SciGirls! Participants will do activities in groups from the curriculum in order to explore lessons as well as approaches, strategies, and tools to promote STEM identity for their students.

SciGirls, a PBS KIDS weekly series and web site, is working to change how tween girls think about STEM. Educators attending the SciGirls professional development training will:

  • Learn the latest research for exciting and engaging girls, boys, and underrepresented populations in STEM
  • Experience hands-on STEM activities
  • Leave with curriculum that puts a creative twist on teaching STEM
  • Learn how to modify activities to engage kids in STEM using the SciGirls Seven
  • Discover additional online resources that enhance teaching and learning experiences for all kids

The activities and resources engage both girls AND boys in STEM. The $30 registration fee per person to attend this training includes printed materials and DVD's of Season's 1-3 for the first 20 registrants. Participants attending agree to offer one SciGirls program or event (minimum of 1 hour) for girls, ages 8-13, using the associated activities within one year of the professional development.

Space is limited to 30 participants only! Register Now!
