Role Models Matter (CoCoSTEM/TechBridge Training) - Boulder
Join CoCoSTEM and TechBridge for an interactive workshop focused on Role Models for Girls in STEM!
Hands-on projects can spark an interest in science, technology, or engineering. But on their own they may not lead to a career interest in these fields. Role models are the best ambassadors for communicating information about the wide range of careers that are available. Role models play a critical role in creating opportunities for girls to envision a career in STEM. The Techbridge Role Models Matter Workshop is an opportunity to prepare you to effectively engage with girls to explore STEM professions. During the training Techbridge will model a role model event and introduce key strategies to making a meaningful connection with girls around STEM careers. You will also walk away with additional resource materials to support your work as a role model at outreach events. This workshop is appropriate for STEM professionals interested in being a mentor, educators who involve role models in their programs, and others interested in inspiring and supporting girls to pursue STEM careers.
Workshop attendees will be eligible to apply for CoCoSTEM Mini-Grant funds designated for Role Models Matter -related programs.
This workshop is subsidized through a grant through the TechBridge/NGCP Role Models Matter Program. Registration fee includes on-campus parking, coffee/tea and breakfast snacks.
