Renuka had a deep passion for the STEM field ever since her childhood. As a child, she loved to read books on anatomy/physiology and participate in STEM events at her school, which she still continues to do. She is actively involved in STEM activities/initiatives both inside and outside school. As a rising senior at her school, she founded the HOSA Future Health Professionals Chapter, is a member of the Science Olympiad team, academic team, and president of the Student Technology Leadership Program (STLP). Outside of school, she is actively involved in the Bluegrass Youth Sustainability Council, an environmental sustainability initiative, where she serves as a committee chair. She created a math and science tutoring website along with 3 other students which received a "Best of Fair" award at the STLP State Championship. Additionally, she won several state and local academic team awards, placed regionally and nationally in art competitions such as the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards, and placed among the top 10 for the international National Geographic ATC Anatomy and Physiology test. Renuka hopes to pursue medicine in the future and continue being involved in activities dedicated to encouraging women to pursue a career in STEM.
