Events in Oregon Girls Collaborative Project

The Collaborative will host a variety of events for STEM practitioners including: girl-serving organizations, K-12 formal and informal educators, higher education faculty, industry and business leaders, and government.

The Collaborative's Kick-Off Conference was held September 15th, 2014 in Wilsonville where over 65 people joined as we had a panel of girls and girl-serving programs share about their experiences being involved in quality STEM. Breakout sessions covered the challenges in providing STEM opportunities for girls and provided resources to help build or strengthen their girl-serving STEM programs.

The Collaboration Forum held on November 7th, 2014 shared strategies for successful partnerships, introduced guidelines to our mini-grants, and provided planning time for collaborative project ideas.

We hosted a series of Professional Development Forums around the state in the Spring of 2015 that provided exemplary practices and strategies, highlight local programs and resources, and continued the valuable networking experience that NGCP is founded on. Several mini-grant recipients joined our National STEM Institute in Portland May 2016 to present their projects to a stakeholders from around the country. Collaborative successes, additional networking and professional development activities were also a part of this event.
