Within the field of girl-serving STEM organizations, there are many compelling reasons to collaborate.  Join informal educators, afterschool providers, school administrators, engineers, technical professionals, business partners, members of professional organizations, K-12 educators, and university staff from across the state at the Louisiana STEM Girls Collaborative Collaboration Forum. There are numerous efforts to support girls in STEM, but they tend to be uncoordinated and disconnected, many operate in isolation. Collaboration can help reduce this isolation as well as the isolation among professionals working in this field. It can also strengthen relationships among organizations, increasing the potential for learning by sharing exemplary practices.

This exciting networking event will allow participants to learn and share information on how to develop and grow programs as well as how to obtain resources including mini-grants from the Louisiana STEM Girls Collaborative.

This forum is free, but space is limited. For additional information, contact Lindsey Vincent at lbkv@latech.edu. Travel scholarships are available to a limited number of participants.  Contact Lou Papai at lpapai@sciport.org for more information on scholarships.

For our out of area participants: we have reserved a limited number of hotel rooms at a local hotel. If you wish to reserve a room at the discounted rate, contact the Sleep Inn & Suites (106 South Service Road East, Ruston, LA 71270) at (318) 232-1101 and use the group name “NGCP”.  Cost is $77/night.  Rates are good through: Wednesday, November 6, 2013.
