Helen P.

Helen P.Helen is fascinated with all aspects of STEM, her passions nurtured from a young age. In mathematics, she is an American Invitational Mathematics Exam (AIME) qualifier. In computer science, she is a USA Computing Olympiad bronze medalist, NCWiT Aspirations in Computing state Affiliate Winner, TSA Coding State Winner, and Oracle Certified Java Programmer. Helen is also a research intern in redox flow batteries at the University of Kentucky, for which she won first place in the state science fair in the Energy: Chemical category. Aside from the STEM fields, Helen is also very passionate about both business and the arts. She is a multiple time state winner in the Future Business Leaders of America competition and captain of her school’s Economics Team. She is a NAfME All-National Symphony Orchestra cellist, a KMEA Festival Piano Solo Grand Cup winner, and has made her choral Carnegie Hall Debut. Overall, Helen has worked extremely hard to inspire girls to pursue the STEM fields, founding the Girls in STEM Club at her school, and chairing the Kentucky Girls in STEM Collaborative Teen Board. Through these initiatives and this board, she has founded many educational programs to engage young females and promote STEM to hundreds of students.
