Discover how to engage youth in learning through birds, citizen science, and local habitat improvement projects that benefit birds and other wildlife!

What you'll receive:
During this FREE full-day professional development opportunity you’ll be introduced to a curriculum developed by the Cornell Lab of Ornithology and will discover how to engage girls and boys ages 8-13 through inquiry-based STEM instruction.

There will be a bonus tour of the Ornithology collection at the Burke Musuem and a short presentation on Burke Museum resources. The workshop is appropriate for K-12 formal and informal educators; no experience with birds or citizen science is required.

We will be going outside for some of the activities. Please come prepared to be outside on this Seattle early-spring day!

What's expected of participants:
Participating educators will be expected to utilize the curriculum with a group of youth and complete evaluation data for the Cornell Lab of Ornithology prior to Aug. 31, 2016. Implementing the complete curriculum requires approximately 10 contact hours with youth. The Cornell Lab of Ornithology will also provide ongoing resources and support to participants. If you have questions about this expectation, please don't hesitate to contact us.

Visit the BirdSleuth Habitat Connection page (http://www.birdsleuth.org/habitat-connections-2/) to learn more about the materials.

Lunch will be provided and parking will be reimbursed.

Click the ‘Sign Up’ button to register. Registration closes March 9.

*After you complete the registration, you will be asked to participate in a brief survey to help determine if your organization is a good fit for the curriculum implementation plan.

**If space permits, more than one educator representing a particular organization may register; however, only one curriculum guide per organization will be distributed.
