A Forum Sponsored by the CT Girls Collaborative Project: this is a free and unique opportunity to network with peers who both support and create programs for girls in the STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) subjects. Workshops include a session with Techbridge, which was launched in 2000 by Chabot Space & Science Center in Oakland, California to expand the options of girls in underserved communities and to address the shortage of women and underrepresented groups in technology and engineering. Participants will have the opportunity to learn about mentoring programs and the importance of role models, research based assessment tools, and strategies on how to successfully reach out to underserved populations. The morning will end with an abbreviated tour of the New England Air Museum by museum educators and volunteers. Both a continental breakfast and a takeaway lunch will be served. Please go to the CT Girls Collaborative Project website to register by May 22, 2009.
