Engage Girls in STEM by Building Capacity in Alaska

Public event
Tuesday, August 6, 2013 - 1:00pm - 2:00pm
Time Zone:

The Pacific Northwest Girls Collaborative Project (PNWGCP) brings together organizations throughout Alaska, Hawaii, Idaho, and Washington that are committed to informing and motivating girls to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). Often, programs that serve girls in STEM are limited in service and impact due to size, location, funding, expertise, and equipment.  In other cases, projects compete with each other, duplicating services and seeking the same resources.  PNWGCP provides the opportunity for programs to increase their ability to maintain interest and participation of girls in STEM through collaboration.

In this free hour-long webinar, participants will:

  • Learn about the National Girls Collaborative Project model
  • Find out more about PNWGCP’s events and opportunities, including upcoming mini-grant opportunities
  • Engage in discussion about the needs and resources of girl-serving STEM organizations in Alaska, and how a PNWGCP Collaboration Forum event in Alaska may help meet those needs
