The theme of the 2014 GRITS Annual Conference is "Best Practices in STEM." We will share the expertise of our Leadership Team and Champions Board members who are "advancing the agenda in gender equity' for girls and their families in Tennessee.

This year our annual conference will feature Dr. Donna Nelson, Professor of Chemistry at the University of Oklahoma, as our keynote speaker. She is an award winning researcher whose interests are carbon nanotubes, communicating science to the public and STEM workforce development. Dr. Nelson's keynote “Breaking Bad: The Scientist Behind the Show” will take place at 7:00 PM on October 2 in the Tucker Theater on the MTSU campus. She will speak about her experiences as science advisor to the TV series, Breaking Bad.  Part of her assistance included checking scripts, providing dialogue, drawing chemical structures, and writing chemical equations that were used as props. She will discuss the benefits of increasing public appreciation for science and scientists by using such methods.

Please see the agenda below for Pre-conference Activities on October 1 and Conference Sessions on October 2.

All are welcome to attend one or all of these events.
