NGCP partners with Arizona State University and SciStarter, an online hub for citizen science, on an Institute for Museum and Library Service (IMLS) and Moore Foundation-funded grant entitled Scaling, Supporting, and Sustaining Libraries as Community Hubs for Citizen Science.

NGCP serves as the project director for the initiative and leads the Citizen and Community Science Library Network to support libraries and other community-based organizations across the country to engage their users in citizen science. Since 2021, this partnership has:

  • Grown the Library Network to over 700 members through outreach within the NGCP community.
  • Scaled resources, including kit-building guides and promotional tools, supporting libraries to engage their users in public participation in science.
  • Provided 20 national webinars on strategies and models for public engagement in science, reaching thousands of librarians and educators nationwide.
