Role models and mentors can truly make a difference in a girl’s life, especially when it comes to inspiring her to pursue science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). In honor of National Mentoring Month, The National Girls Collaborative Project (NGCP) will showcase its innovative online collaboration tool, The FabFems Project. The webinar will feature an in-depth look at the FabFems Role Model Directory, a national database of women who are inspiring role models for young women. The directory is free and accessible to young women, parents, and girl-serving programs and organizations working to increase career awareness and interest in STEM. Participants will learn how to effectively provide role models and mentors for girls, including strategies for recruiting, retaining and recognizing professional volunteers. Experience role model stories, interactive activities and resources that will help you craft engaging experiences that dispel stereotypes and ignite girls’ interest in STEM careers.

Additional role model stories and resources that support successful interactions between girls and role models will be shared throughout the day on the FabFems Facebook Page and @FabFems.
