The National
Girls Collaborative Project brings together organizations that are committed to
informing and motivating girls to pursue careers in science, technology,
engineering, and mathematics (STEM). The goal of the
project is to encourage organizations from K-12 education, higher education,
government, professional organizations, business, and community-based
organizations to collaborate with other girl-serving organizations to increase
their capacity for continuation and broader impact. Organizations in California, Kansas,
Massachusetts, Oregon, Texas, Missouri, Washington, and Wisconsin are
participating in the project.

COLLABORATION FORUM IN DENTON, TEXAS
Here's a special invitation to attend the second
meeting of the SouthCentral Girls Collaborative, a group dedicated to supporting
girls in science, technology, engineering, and math. The topic for this Forum
will be Collaboration. This will be a great opportunity to network
with Collaborative members! The facilitators from the Center for Collaborative
Organizations (http://www.workteams.unt.edu/) promise
an highly interactive, informative, and productive experience. The Center will
provide a program in critical skills that will assist your organization in
collaborative efforts, whether within your organization or with others. The
presenters have years of experience in organization development and change
management. This promises to be an interesting session on why and how to
collaborate with other organizations. We have scheduled the Forum for Friday, February 24 from
9:00 AM - noon with a continental breakfast available at 8:30 AM.
The Collaboration Forum will be held in Room 418 at University of
North Texas Union, Denton TX. A map to the UNT Union can be found on http://www.unt.edu/pais/map/custommap.htm?bd=2. If you park in the parking garage in front of the Union, we will
validate your parking. This Forum is
sponsored by the National Science Foundation and there is no charge to
attend. Questions and RSVP
to Martha Peet, peet@coe.unt.edu or 940-565-2963.
