It will provide exposure to technology utilized by the Kentucky Air National Guard and NASA via visits to the 123rd Air Guard Base and Space Camp in Huntsville, AL. | Organization Description | |||
| Highland Middle School is one of several middle schools in Jefferson County, KY, It offers innovative learning through experience. The school has an international program welcoming students from all over the world. The diversity brings with it a wide variety of interests and learning styles. Students at Highland thrive in the energetic atmosphere provided by the caring staff of this school. It is one of only a few middle schools offering looping for students (students remain with the same team of teachers from 6th to 8th grades). This allows teachers, students, and parents to develop a bonding that rarely occurs past elementary school. With this relationship, students knowledge deepens thus improving grades, test scores, and behavior. Students become more focused and better prepared for high school. The program permits organizations such as 4-H an avenue to access more students on a consistent basis. | |||
